CAPPA Committees

Government Liaison and Emerging Issues

This committee represents CAPPA and production accountants on various industry, government and regulatory boards including the CAPP Accounting Committee, the Registry Industry Benefits Committee and the Business Operations Working Committees. CAPPA’s role is to work with these committees to influence changes affecting production accountants and to communicate information from such boards back to the industry, thus strengthening industry standards.

Education Committee

CAPPA is a certificate-issuing association. Upon completion of CAPPA’s five levels, a certificate that meets Registry requirements is issued.

The Education Committee has two main purposes. The first is to work closely with education institutions to ensure that the CAPPA program is delivered in a way that meets the needs of the students.  This includes ensuring the courses are relevant, delivered efficiently, contain practical information and provide a solid professional foundation for future Production Accountants.

The Education Committee’s second main purpose is to ensure the notes and texts used for CAPPA courses are kept current with the Registry and industry standards.

Events Committee

The Events Committee is responsible for delivering network opportunities to CAPPA’s members. Such events include the annual golf tournament and funspiel.

Conference Committee

The Conference committee is comprised of dedicated and hard-working volunteers that plan and organize CAPPA’s annual conference.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors represents the association and is comprised of at least ten CAPPA members. The roles on the board are President, Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and the Committee Directors: Conference, Communications, Government Liaison and Emerging Issues, Member Services, Events. There may also be one or several Directors at Large. These are volunteer positions and are held by people in the industry who see the great value CAPPA brings to its members.

CAPPA’s purpose is to educate, communicate and provide networking opportunities to its members. Due to CAPPA’s membership size, history and dedication to Production Accountants, it asserts influence with regulatory bodies. CAPPA is the number one communication tool between such regulatory bodies and people in the field.

CAPPA’s vision and mission statements are coupled with information from membership surveys and input. This information is used by the Board of Directors to navigate towards the goals put forth by the association.
